Nana Adopted!
Nana is a stray that was being fed by some kind people in her neighbourhood. About a week before she was reported to us, she gave birth but sadly all her puppies died. After that, her abdomen started to swell, which is when they contacted us. We were worried that there could be a dead puppy stuck inside her or that she had Pyometra, an infected uterus. Both conditions are often fatal when this far advanced, so we knew time was of the essence.
It turned out that she had a septic uterus, which is why her belly was filled with fluid. She was 7 kg lighter after surgery!
Nana is already quite old - around 8 or 9 years old. Senior dogs rarely get adopted so we were prepared to let her enjoy her remaining years at the Sanctuary. Until - once again - Olga stepped up!
You may remember Olga from adopting another senior dog - Marble - from us earlier this year. The adoption was such a success that only a few months later Olga was willing to welcome another rescue to her pack!
This is the outcome we want for all our rescues. Nana was just hours away from death, and is now living the absolute best life possible. Seeing her so happy in her new home makes everything we do worthwhile!
We could never do our work without people like Olga. If you are like her and are willing to transform a dog’s life, please message us. You can read more about Nana on her profile here.
