Archie
Archie was rescued from abuse along with 5 other dogs.
We think Archie was born around 2015. He is friendly when he gets to know you and is a good guard dog as he alerts us by barking if someone is at the shelter gate.

Archie's Story
In March 2020 we got a message from a Japanese lady who saw a cage containing many dogs.

Archie and Heffa (now Shiloh) ion the day they were rescued
Out of the six dogs we rescued – one died the next day at the vet and 5 came to the shelter. Unfortunately 3 managed to escape by biting through the main fence ( we have since reinforced it so this is not possible) and we never saw them again. Only Archie and Heffa were left. Heffa was adopted last November by one of our volunteers and renamed Shiloh. So Archie is the only one left out of that rescue.

Archie
Archie is really fat!! We are not sure why but Ding says after feeding he clears up all the left overs – though of course with all the dogs there aren’t many.
He stays in a big kennel next to the vet clinic – door is never locked of course he is free to come and go.
He is very possessive of his kennel and will attack anyone who tries to take it. The only dog he allows in is Maisy.

Along with a few other heavy weights, Archie took part in "The Biggest Loser" Weight Loss Challenge, coming in almost last - must try harder Archie!

Archie Adopted!
We had some more amazing news today, Archie was adopted!!!! Hopefully now he isn't living in the kitchen he may lose some weight.
His adopter is Eren, who adopted another DAS dog Roxy last year.
She came to the Sanctuary at the weekend to meet our senior dogs and despite Archie being a grumpy old man, she chose him.
Ding, Rudylyn and Rina took him to his forever home this afternoon.
We will really miss you Archie, but you deserve your own family.
It's so rare that an adult dog gets adopted let alone a senior!!!
