He was rescued on 7th May 2021 because he had an old collar and chain slowly strangling him.
He was initially reported 6 months earlier but no one could get near him to catch him.
He is slowly getting more used to company and growing more trustful each day.
This is a story of true love and care of strays and outright persistence. Jezeree, who lives in Siaton (quite far from the shelter) noticed a street dog with a chain embedded in his neck. She contacted us last October but there was nothing we could do as no one could get near enough to contain and catch him.
We only have Valium but it doesn't knock dogs out, it just relaxes them and they still run away. However, she persisted on feeding him to gain his trust and finally, with the help of her family, they finally lured him into a cage.
Dodge’s neck wound is slow to heal as it was so deep. Slowly the wound is healing, but he will probably carry a scar for life.
