Geri
Geri was one of two puppies reported by a visitor to Dumaguete in October 2022. He tried to find adopters but couldn't before having to leave, so we took them both in. The boy, Tom, made progress, but the girl Geri was in a much poorer condition, which she has slowly battled back to health from. We hope she can follow her brother to a happy new home.
Geri's Story
Both tested positive for Parvo, but Geri was in a much poorer state of health than her brother Tom. He shrugged off the condition, grew healthier quickly, and was adopted at one of the Adoption Drives at Robinsons Mall in November 2022.
We put Geri on IV, and hoped for the best. After a few days of no poop, we were worried so took her to Animal Wellness, where x-rays showed a blockage full of hookworms - an acute infestation which she managed to pass with some help. She also had a bad skin infection that slowly began to respond to a new course of antibiotics. She slowly began to turn the corner - for such a little mite she is quite the survivor!
Her continued recovery is down to a couple of important things - the generosity of countless donors who covered the extensive medical and care costs, and the 24-hour dedication of our Sanctuary staff who refused to give up on her. She is gaining weight and energy day by day, and we can only hope there is a loving home waiting for her.

Three Go Home from the Mall!!
We had a great day at Robinsons Dumaguete.
3 Adoptions, Petra, Geri and Brene.
Geri was so close to death from Parvo when we rescued her and her brother Tom, who was adopted at the last Robinsons Adoption Drive. It's a bittersweet adoption as she had become best friends with Olivia, who is still not ready for adoption. You can read about Olivia on her profile page here.
Petra was the only pup left at Robinsons 2 weeks ago, all her siblings were adopted so we are so happy for her. Brene was one of our newest arrivals, so we are very lucky to have known her if only for a short while! Thank you to everyone who adopted, donated and came out to support us. We received a jar of notes and coins from a family who saved up the whole year to donate to us this Christmas, as well as lots of in kind donations and 11,450 pesos in cash donations. We will be back next week for our last Adoption drive before Christmas.
Thanks as always to Estella for making it happen and working relentlessly all day, and Yorica, Richard, Alvin and Belle for working the whole day to help.
