Minnie
Rescued on 15 March 2022, Minnie had a very poor start in life, but was saved through many kind donations towards her initial care at Animal Wellness, and a period of one-on-one love in a foster home. She is now a very feisty young lady with real character, and we can't wait to see who she chooses to adopt her!
Minnie's Story
With the Sanctuary at capacity, we simply couldn't pick up poor Minnie without funds to treat her and a willing foster to provide after-care. Up stepped our many generous donors, and Dia, one of our volunteers, and the reporter, Francis, bought her directly to Animal Wellness for assessment and treatment.
She was found unconscious and having seizures by the side of the road. She was very weak, around 2 months old, infested with worms, and may well had had some kind of head trauma according to Doc Gama, as she was having seizures and crying a lot. With pain meds, she eventually stopped crying, and slowly began eating and drinking for herself. She became well enough to go into a foster place with volunteer Dia, and began to benefit from plenty of cuddles, attention and a quiet place to recover.
After a couple of weeks, she came to the Sanctuary, and started making her presence felt immediately. Her walking improved, though still a bit wobbly at times, but at least she was moving around making friends, and playing with others!
She has such spirit, and looks set to develop into a very characterful dog, which any family should be happy to have in their lives. Minnie by name, but not Minnie by nature!
