Ophelia
Rescued in April 2021, Ophelia had been beaten severely, thrown in a canal and left to die. She has made a remarkable recovery and we hope she find a new home very soon.

Ophelia's Story
Ophelia was rescued from San Jose – a town around 30 mins from Dumaguete. She had been beaten and thrown into a canal. Someone saw her shaking and submerged in the water and managed to pull her out – but she was in a really bad shape. Here she is in the canal.
We rushed her to Animal Wellness clinic for tests and xrays and found she had multiple fractures. The vet concluded she had been ‘paddled’ with a piece of wood or something similar. We really didn’t think she would make it but she pulled through and slowly began to stand and walk – albeit a little unsteadily.
She was traumatized by what happened to her, and was initially very wary of us but slowly starting to allow us to stroke her.
She is now fully recovered, spayed and vaccinated, out of quarantine and socialising with other dogs.

She loves her cuddles, which heart-breakingly means that she must always have loved them, so how someone could have mistreated her so brutally is beyond us.
