Pepper
On 8 August 2022, we decided it was time to bring in a poor mama dog and her tiny puppy, after staff feeding them when they could on their way to work. We called the mama Pippa, and her young puppy Pepper.
Pepper's Story
On their way into work, staff had been feeding a mother and pup, hoping they would start to put on weight and get back to a more healthy state. But the morning the of 8 August 2022, the mother was lying, very weak on the side of the road with her puppy next to her.
We of course brought her in. She had some problem with her eyes and was very weak.
We called her Pippa and her puppy Pepper. Sadly, Pippa's kidney damage was too severe, and she passed away, painfree at least, on 16 August 2022 - you can read more about Pippa on her profile page here.
We put Pepper on an IV as he had a high infection but also his temperature was very low - we had to surround him with heating pads. He had a serious case of mange which is such a burden on a young dog's immune system.
When Pippa left for treated for her critical condition, little Pepper seemed lost without her, so we are relieved and grateful to Marmel and Lloyd, two of the founders of DAS, for fostering little Pepper and giving him some one-on-one care.

Penn, Perry and Clara Adopted!
The Universe must be looking out for us! Not long after we took in the three puppies this morning, Penn, Perry and Clara were adopted by Mikaela and her family. 3 in 3 out!!!
Little Penn and Perry had a rough start, overcoming Parvo and various ailments in their early days, and Clara was one of many abandoned puppies that came to us in recent weeks. We are delighted to see this fledgling family pack move on with their lives with hope and love.
