Sara

Sara
Along with her sister Sally, Sara was rescued from the streets in January 2021. They had been abandoned and left to die.
Both have now grown into very pretty dogs, and Sara is especially affectionate, with a wagging tail that won't stop when you come to greet her!
Sara's Story
Abandoned in the street in January 2021, Sara was taken in with her sister Sally on the same day two other pups arrived - Larry and Stevie. Poor Stevie already had Parvo and died a couple of weeks later, and as they were all in Quarantine together, Larry, Sally and Sara all managed to fight off the virus.

Sally and Sara
Larry got adopted, and Sara and Sally moved into the main puppy run. The Distemper outbreak in April - June then put a temporary stop on further adoptions, as we couldn't risk placing them with any homes with other dogs. Both Sally and Sara have been spayed and vaccinated, and now spend their time lazing just outside the puppy run, playing together with their friend Juno.

Sara Adopted!

We had another great adoption today - Sara. We have had Sara since she was a puppy and while she is friendly to shelter staff she is very nervous of strangers. She has become more sociable since Corri, Jonathan and Pati have spent a lot of time walking her and playing with her, but because she runs away from visitors she was unlikely to ever be adopted from the Sanctuary.

Sara
She needed a very special family who would understand what she would need to come out of her shell. And today at Robinsons Mall she found those people. Janryl and her partner have a rescue that they adopted from the Cebu pound and are super aware of how long it could take Sara to trust and they are more than willing to take the time. Thanks so much for choosing Sara. Thanks @robplacedumaguete for enabling this to happen. You can see Sara's whole story on he profile page here.

Puppies in the Great Outdoors
When rescued puppies get a bit bigger, it's the best time to get them used to a collar or harness and leash or lead, and leave the comfort of the Sanctuary and explore THE GREAT OUTDOORS for the first time!

Dean out for a walk
Seeing these young dogs grow in confidence with each exploration is very rewarding, and we hope that their familiarity with the concept of "going for a walk" prepares them for life with an active family. Here are Sara, Dean, Juno and Gretal checking out life outside the Sanctuary.
