Star

Star when rescued
Rescued on 24 September 2021, Star had a terrible crusty case of Mange, was starving, and had some suspicious infected wounds. She's been cleaned up, and with love and care, will return to her former affectionate and furry self.
Star's Story
The Sanctuary was at capacity financially, so we are very grateful that enough people donated to help us rescue Star. Without additional funds, additional rescues are simply not possible.
Star had a terrible case of Mange, and was encrusted with dead skin.

Star before rescue
Add to this her malnourished state, and some wounds on her back that were filled with maggots, it's clear she would not survive much longer on the streets.

Star gives blood
We took a blood sample, gave her a good clean, and probably the biggest bowl of food she's seen in her life. Her blood work will tell us whether there are any other conditions we need to be aware of.

Star ges a scrub
We were delighted in late December when an adopter stepped forward to give her a home, but in early March 2022 she was returned to us by the family that took her in, who had changed their minds about adopting her. While this is upsetting, we would much rather take an adoption back than have them abandoned or neglected once again. She is a wonderful, gentle animal that surely deserves every chance at a happy life. If you think you fit the bill, please get in touch with us.
