Alice's Story
Alice was also a pound rescue in Feb 2020. She was in a cage with Edith at the pound and they have been inseparable since. Alice is really really shy.

She was more friendly when she first arrived and then perhaps felt overwhelmed at the shelter. She had really bad mange and open sores on her skin.
As we had a fully Quarantine block, (we brought in 26 dogs from the pound in the same month), she stayed in an old crate in the quarantine area.

Once the dogs were let out of quarantine she formed a mini pack with Bruce and Edith.
She was never ever aggressive and never barked, she would just run away if you tried to get near her.
She is much more friendly now and a little more cheeky. She will come to you to be stroked. But like Bruce, she wont go near strangers.
Adopters rarely want adult dogs as it is – and when they do – they go for the younger more sociable ones. Alice is now out and about on a leash, and is very well behaved!

Alice has become even more sociable this month and is spending time outside of the kitchen area with other dogs. We think it is because we removed the big kennel in the kitchen area that she used to stay in all the time.
We started trying to walk her on the leash but she just lies down, rolls on her back and refuses to move! We are going to continue trying to leash train her this coming month as she needs more exercise as she is becoming very chubby.
She has had no illness or any other issues at all this month.
Here's a short clip of her being bathed today.
