Bruno
Bruno was rescued at the end of December 2019, after a report of a dog involved in hit-and-run.
He was well fed so probably had an owner, but has never been claimed. He is a friendly dog but doesn’t move much!

Bruno's Story
We had a report about a dog that had been hit by a car and was lying on the side of the road, unable to move.
By the time we got there he had crawled up into the drainage system and it was difficult to get him out. Rina had to crawl in to get him – it took us a couple of hours to get him out.

We didn’t have a vet at the shelter so he had to go to cats and dogs. He didn’t move for a few days but x-rays showed no broken bones.
We think he had an owner as he was so fat and well fed but no one stepped up to claim him.
This is the volunteer team who rescued him.
After a few days, he began to stand up but had some twitching going on and had difficulty walking. We think he may have had distemper in the past and the twitching was left over from that.
When we brought him to the shelter, he stayed in one of the small kennels for months, only coming out to poop.
Then one day he joined the rest of the dogs outside and now he is always with the others.

He will defend his bowl from other dogs and does not get intimated by others. He will defend his bowl from other dogs and does not get intimated by others.
Health wise he is fine – he has had no issues since we rescued him. Like many dogs he gets stressed by fireworks during fiesta time, and we used stress wraps on him and others to help them cope, and they seemed to help a bit!
