Cardo was a rescue from the pound on February 14th 2020.
We think Cardo was around 8 years old and had probably spent most of his life on the street.
He has always been really friendly – and is such a character.
The City's Pound is clean and the dogs are looked after, but such is the problem with strays in Dumaguete that if they are not collected within 3 days, they will be euthanised. Cardo was one of 16 dogs DAS rescued at one go - in his case he was hours from death.
He has a lot of scars and also indication of a previous leg injury as he walks with a limp.
We noticed some small tumors appearing around his genital area, and diagnosed Transmissible Venereal Tumors (TVTs), for which he was treated with chemotherapy, and luckily made a full recovery. He was such a brave and gentle soul throughout his three treatments.
He is very independent and while he doesn’t fight with other dogs, he tends to spend a lot of time on his own.
He is such a lovely dog but sadly unlikely to get an adopted as he is old, but not old enough to be considered senior.
