Rescued on 17 February 2022, Cinderella was full of mange, malnourished, and in danger of further mistreatment due to her twitching, a harmless hangover from surviving Distemper at some time in the past. her She is in good hands now.
Rescued on 17 February 2022 from Magnao, Cinderella was originally reported two weeks earlier, but we hadn't been able to locate her or safely rescue her despite a number of attempts. Persistence and patience paid off, and she was eventually admitted to us for tests. It's notoriously difficult to catch strays. You have to get really close to snare them as that's the only way to catch them unless they are super friendly.
She tested negative for Parvo, Distemper, Erlichia and Heartworm (the latter being a particular issue at the Sanctuary during February 2022), but clearly had a residual neurological twitch from an earlier infection of Distemper.
She began to eat well and settle in, and although a fundraiser for her tests and treatment didn't raise as much as we hoped, she gained a sponsor. We simply cannot survive without charitable donations and sponsorships - you can find out more here.
In a few short months, she has made a dramatic recovery, and although her Distemper twitch will probably never leave her, she is beginning to look like her old self again!
