MAYA
Maya was rescued from extreme neglect. She was chained up, but had just given birth to puppies. The report found foster families for the puppies, and Maya came to us.
She's a shy, friendly creature with no underlying health problems. She just needs a happy home to thrive in as a kind and gentle soul.

MAYA's STORY
Maisy was kept by the sister of one of our donors in very poor conditions, tied up despite having just given birth. The donor persuaded her sister to give her up in August 2019.
She was full of ticks and fleas, and very thin.

Maya and her puppies
She stayed in foster care for a few months while the Sanctuary was being built. During this time, her puppies were found homes.
She is a quiet dog and stays in the kitchen area but sometimes she will be in a playful mood and play with her best friend at the shelter Michai! She has had no health problems at all since we brought her in and she is such an easy going dog.

Maya used to hardly move from the kitchen area but over the last month she has become much more active. Here's a short clip of her playing today. She plays so much more now. We started her on 'immunol' which is an immune system booster and that seems to have helped her a lot.
She is getting quite fat now though so it is good that she is more active. She has had no other issues at all this month.
