Nesta's Story
On 20 August 2023, a familiar scene played out in front of the Sanctuary. A callous, illegal abandonment of animals in need. This time the three young puppies were left with their mother, Nesta, each one confused and scared. We called the puppies Nia, Nell and Norrie.
The puppies were active and after a week or so, we knew they were old enough to be separated from Nesta to continue to grow and socialise with the other puppies. She adapted well to her new-found freedom, so after her sterilisation, we thought she would like to leave the noise and bustle of the Sanctuary for the life of a happy, healthy stray.
Nesta had other ideas though! Everytime we took her outside, she was desperate to return to the Sanctuary and be with the staff. It seems she has decided that the life of a street dog is no longer for her! Let's hope a comfortable home can be found for this loving dog who will no longer have to face the risk to health of having more unwanted puppies.
