phoenix
Phoenix care to us from another local Animal Welfare shelter in June 2019.
She had two young puppies with her, Harry and Bella. Phoenix is one of our "office" dogs, spending most of her time napping outside the Sanctuary office on the bamboo benches.

phoenix'S STORY
Phoenix had two puppies in the shelter she came from, so we spayed her, and she has been a very happy a contented addition to our Sanctuary family.
Phoenix lives outside the bamboo office and stays mostly on the benches with Bella. They never seem to mix with Harry who is part of another pack.

Phoenix after spaying
She has had problems with one ear but after Doc Riv did surgery it is much better now.

Phoenix
She is a lovely dog – very friendly and really loves being cuddled.

Jonathan's Tribe
As well as great physical and mental exercise (for the walkers too!), taking dogs out on the lead outside the Sanctuary gets our rescues better prepared for that new life when they get adopted. Some dogs don't need leads, and walk with us wherever we go. This is Jonathan's tribe - every Wednesday he completes 5 or 6 walks in the company of TinTin, Phoenix and Bella. They bound ahead and clear the way while Jonathan and the lead-bound dog follow on behind. It's just possible that they are the best exercised dogs in the Province, as they are there on EVERY walk!

Phoenix, Bella and Tin Tin
Here are some of today's walked dogs out having fun in the woods behind the Sanctuary. If you are local, and can COMMIT to a regular time slot each week for months on end, then get in touch with us to see about becoming a DAS Volunteer.
