sheila
Sheila was rescued from being euthanised as a stray by the City Vet on Valentine's Day 2020. She was in good condition so clearly her owner had simply abandoned her.
She is a beautiful dog, but is taking time to trust people again, preferring to live quietly in the corners of the Sanctuary.

sheila's STORY
Sheila was rescued on 14th Feb 2020 from the local pound death row. Here she is in the cage waiting to be euthanised.
We think she must have had an owner as she was in such good condition but she was really afraid of us and we couldn’t get near her.

Snoopy and Sheila
She bonded with Snoopy another death row rescue and they were inseparable for a very long time – like an old married couple!
Recently, she and Snoopy seem to have had a falling out as all of a sudden, they were at opposite ends of the Sanctuary and never together. We hope that in the near future they will patch things up!
Despite all our best efforts, it is still difficult to touch her. She will sniff our hands and then walk away. She really is a beautiful dog – she just needs one to one care and a lot of patience.

An Everyday Scene...
...from the life of the Sanctuary from a dog's eye-view. Sheila (white, left) has just been disturbed from her comfortable dirt-hole by Indy (black, right). Bystander Jenna (black with white chest) looks on worriedly, while Snoopy (scruffy, background) knows well enough to stay out of it when the ladies begin to argue.....Sheila eventually got her hole back.
