Stan was rescued in November 2020 following a local pedicab deliberately ran over him.
His injuries were largely superficial, and after surgery, he gradually improved.
He is a shy dog, but likes playing with Ziggy and Maya. As his confidence improves, we have high hopes of him finding a new home/

stan'S STORY
Stan was rescued in November 2020 after a pedicab (tricycle taxi) driver intentionally swerved to hit him – witnesses at the scene said the people in the trike and the trike driver were laughing. He was lucky to survive.
Unfortunately the driver could not be identified.

Stan
We were worried that he had internal injuries but luckily he only had a few bruises and a bruised leg.

Stan
Like many of our rescues he was not friendly initially. It took him about 6 weeks before he would let us touch him.
Now he hangs out by the clinic and around the kitchen area and plays with Ziggy and Maya.
He is a friendly dog but wary of strangers so there is not a high chance of him ever being adopted.
Apart from his initial injuries, he is healthy and has not had any other health issues since he arrived.

Stan gets Bitten
We have a worrying situation with Stan. We noticed that his leg was swollen and on further inspection we saw 2 puncture wounds that looked like fang bites. We thought it might be a non venomous snake or a large centipede.
If it was a venomous snake he would be dead by now, but non venomous snakes can cause bacterial infections.

Stan bite injury
Without knowing exactly what bit him it's hard to know what treatment to give.
We took his blood to Animal Wellness and it was pretty much normal so he is on antibiotics, anti inflammatory meds and confined in a cage.
He is still very active and eating well so we are not too worried right now

Stan has had a pretty good month in terms of his health, though like a lot of the dogs here, he has developed a fungal condition on his skin, which makes it a little patchy. We have to bath him using Mycocide shampoo twice a week for around a month to get rid of it.
He also developed a cough in the last few days, nothing serious so we are just supplementing his food with Vitamin C.
The good news is that we leashed trained him this month! One of our volunteers Patti , has been working with him. Leash training makes a dog so much more adoptable.
